4.0 out of 5 stars Great Bike for the Price, May 2, 2011

This review is from: Diamondback Fitness 910SR Seat Recumbent with Electronic Display and Quiet Magnetic Flywheel (Sports)
I ordered the 910sr because of its cost on amazon ($623 vs $899 everywhere else I searched on internet) and features. I spent about 2 weeks over the period of one year looking at various recumbent bikes. Based on the specifications provided for this bike it seemed much better built than the Schwinn and Nautilus bikes I first came across. I admit that I didn't go to fitness stores because I just didn't have the time. I did not look at or get a feel for how well different recumbent bikes designed for home use performed. However, I have been using recumbent bikes at the gym and pretty much knew the configuration that I wanted. This bike was a perfect fit. I am not a thin person nor am I short so it was important that this bike had a weight rating that would work for me. This fit the bill perfectly.
I am very surprised that this bike only has two reviews on amazon. The reviews are pretty good so the lack of reviews did not deter me from buying this bike. However, some of the... Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid the 910sr bike; quality issues and frustrating warranty repairs, May 6, 2013

This review is from: Diamondback Fitness 910SR Seat Recumbent with Electronic Display and Quiet Magnetic Flywheel (Sports)
I shopped around for a long time looking for an exercise bike around this price range. After reading many online reviews and comparing several models, I bought into the award winning reviews for the Diamondback 910sr recumbent bike and purchased it locally from a Diamondback dealer back in June of 2012. Around the 10th day of ownership, I started hearing squeaking and popping noises and smelled a burning rubber smell coming from the flywheel housing. I called Diamondback and asked for an exchange rather than having a brand new recumbent bike serviced. They refused and referred me back to the dealer. The dealer also refused a refund/exchange, and said that the bike had to be serviced.

So began my adventure. It is now May 6th of 2013, approaching the expiration of the 1 year labor warranty, and the popping in the bearings still has not been repaired. I keep going in circles trying to get this fixed. Diamondback won't reply to my emails. I have to deal with the local... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars A sweet ride, December 20, 2010

Recumbent exercise bikes are much less common than their upright versions so there are fewer makes and models to choose from. Most of them were built by gym equipment manufacturers for commercial gym use. They have heavy duty frames, seat/back adjustments and are priced out of the range most families and cycling enthusiasts can afford. Diamondback's 910Sr is the exception. It was designed by a bicycle manufacturer for the home market and is priced accordingly.

The 910Sr comes partially assembled. The owners manual contains instructions and illustrations to help you complete the job. Hardware is neatly packaged and clearly labeled. I'm fairly handy with tools but it still took me some two hours. It could have gone faster but the massive frame (150 lbs) had to be carefully wrestled into positions that made access to attachment points convenient. On the up side, that same massive powder-coated frame makes the 910Sr feel extremely stable. There is no wobble or flex once... Read more
